SALT
Salvation, Life, and Truth

What is it?

photo of salt shakerWe see Salvation Life and Truth, SALT, as a fully fledged evangelical ministry meant to use the whole gamut of mass media and Internet technologies to preach, teach, and confess Jesus Christ as God’s Word for us and for our salvation. Partnering with local congregations and our Evangelical Mission Teams, this crusade will campaign all across North America to convince and convict of God’s plan for our salvation through justification by faith and its meaning for living in this life. The central focus of this work will be upon the Great Commission of Jesus to make disciples which is new commitment to Christ by non-Christians and greater commitment by practicing Christians. A key strategy of this initiative will be to work with non-western Lutheran Churches in the world to lead and guide the work of this ministry and to use their representatives as missionaries among us.

How do we do it?

Our starting point for this ministry will be to leverage internet technologies. The key Internet approach would be a live Web video broadcast of a regularly scheduled SALT video program. These programs will also be available in archive for on demand viewing over the Internet. The program will be lead by a WordAlone evangelist for preaching, teaching, and confessing that Jesus is Lord. Essential to the program will be the exposition of Lutheran theological understandings to enhance faith and encourage discipleship. Two additional Internet technologies will be used to enhance the SALT program. First, there would be a SALT blog which would also include regular podcasts of the SALT messages. Second, there would eventually be a full internet radio station carrying music and programs supporting SALT evangelism.

Another crucial point for initiating SALT is provided by local action through congregations and WordAlone Evangelical Mission Teams. Working together team members put on public events which preach, teach, and confess Jesus in a particularly Lutheran way. This will include hosting public forums by SALT missionaries and evangelists, workshops on the Bible and Catechisms, and lay theological conferences. The central focus of this work will be the evangelize communities and to develop discipleship for local Lutheran Congregations.
