Institute of Lutheran Theology Opens Online Bookstore

Here is an important announcement from the Institute of Lutheran Theology:

We are opening a new online bookstore. Our bookstore is what is known as an Amazon aStore. Amazon hosts the store, maintains the inventory, and handles all of the particulars of sales. We select the types of products we wish to sell, and promote the store. We can select categories of materials to sell or specific items to sell. (We do both).

We have built our bookstore to serve two purposes. First, it will facilitate access to the materials our students need to be successful in their studies. Second, it serves as a means for our constituents to support our efforts by purchasing Christian materials through us that they would purchase anyway. The products in our store are similar to what you'd find in any Christian bookstore. We include Christian books, magazines, ebooks, software, music, and videos. To support our students' needs, we also include office and computer products. We will be adding church supplies in the future as we have time to review the products to be added.

Currently, we are selling Amazon products, but as we continue to build our library collections and identify excess donated materials, we will begin to sell our own materials through Amazon. The Amazon products sold earn us between 4% and 8% based on sales volume. For our materials sold through Amazon, we pay Amazon $0.99 per sale plus a 15% commission fee. All ILT proceeds from sales in our bookstore go to fund the library's collections and services in support of students, faculty, and constituents.
